Last month we talked about the 2025 Chevy Suburban and when it might be available, also highlighting a lot of the updates and new features coming to the vehicle as it receives a mid-generation refresh and facelift. In that blog we briefly mentioned some of the new towing and trailering technologies coming to the 2025 Chevy Suburban, but today we thought we’d dive a little bit deeper into those technologies and what they actually provide to drivers. In addition we’ll be sure to shine a spotlight on the capabilities of the truck, including both its max payload and trailering.
Although the Suburban isn’t a pickup truck, towing and payload are just as important in a vehicle like the 2025 Chevy Suburban. Its legendary history is rife with trailering stories and it makes an excellent vehicle for the jobsite or helping your buddies move. Whatever your reason for towing, it’s important to have confidence in your vehicle’s capabilities, which is why we’re stoked that a handful of new trailering technologies and features have been introduced to the Suburban’s offerings this year.
In addition to the new features and tech that we’re about to touch on, customers can also opt for a Max Trailering Package on certain trim levels. This package includes a high-capacity radiator and cooling fan, an integrated trailer brake controller, access to the Chevrolet Trailering App and several other towing technologies, like Hitch View, Hill Descent Control and Blind Zone Steering Assist with Trailering.
Now, let’s dive into the new and enhanced features and technologies that are being added to the 2025 Chevy Suburban, starting with Trailer Tire Health. A new feature similar to the Tire Pressure Monitoring System, Trailer Tire Health helps to prevent tire blowouts by monitoring the life of your trailer’s tires and sending a warning any time you exceed the tires’ recommended speed.
Mobile Trailering App Load Rating Info makes sure you always have access to your vehicle’s load rating, while Trailer Navigation allows you to use your vehicle’s navigation system to calculate routes based on your trailer’s size. Forward Path Indication will help you to navigate with your trailer equipped by providing guidelines on the Surround View Monitor. These guidelines highlight the trailer’s width and path, helping you to navigate around turns. Boat Ramp Assist is a new feature of the trailering app that helps with all things boat towing.
Check out the following table to see all of the specifications where payload and trailering are concerned. Each powertrain and drivetrain combination offers slightly different capabilities, so you can be sure you’re getting the one you want and need by utilizing the table.
