If you need the utility, versatility and capability of a pickup truck, and your ordinary trucks just won’t do, you might be in the market for a heavy-duty pickup. For as long as the Silverado nameplate has been around, the 2500HD version of the pickup truck has been tearing up the heavy-duty segment. The main difference between the 1500 and 2500, and why they’re named the way they are, is how much weight they’re capable of hauling around. When they were named the way they are, it’s because the 1500 could haul a half-ton, while the 2500 could haul three-quarters of a ton. While the trucks can certainly hold far more than that these days, the 2500HD is still much more capable than the 1500. You can find plenty of 2025 Chevy Silverado 2500HD models for sale right here at Jim Glover Chevrolet in Tulsa, Oklahoma!
Before we give you an overview of the different powertrains and trim levels in which the 2025 Chevy Silverado 2500 is available, we want to dive into some of the exciting updates and enhancements that have come to the heavy-duty pickup truck this year. A majority of the changes have to do with what’s standard on which trim level, but there are a few other improvements as well. First things first, both Front and Rear Park Assist are now standard on the ZR2 trim level and available on WT, Custom and LT, whereas they weren’t in previous years. Similarly, Adaptive Cruise Control is now standard on High Country. In addition, the Midnight Edition package now features a new set of 20” wheels, while a Black-Out Package can now be added to the Custom trim level.
In addition, Trail Boss is now available on both the LT and LTZ trim levels, and it includes a host of exciting additional features. It adds the incredible Z71 shocks and suspension package, Trail Boss decals on the bed, a few blacked-out accents including the trim and badges plus both the front and rear bumpers, a series of red recovery hooks and a set of unique 20” black wheels wrapped in BF Goodrich KO3 tires.
Now that we’ve covered what’s new this year, it’s time to highlight the two different powertrain options available throughout the Silverado 2500HD lineup. The standard option is a 6.6L V8 engine that can utilize either traditional gasoline or E85 FlexFuel. It’s capable of generating 401 horsepower alongside 464 pound-feet of torque. If you’d prefer even more power plus the efficiency of diesel fuel, you can upgrade to the 6.6L Duramax V8 turbo-diesel engine which boosts power output to 470 hp and 975 lb-ft. of torque. In either case, you’ll benefit from a standard Allison 10-speed automatic transmission.
Not counting packages like Trail Boss or Midnight Edition, there are six trim levels in which the 2025 Chevy Silverado 2500HD is available, check out below for some brief details about each model:
