Whether you’ve got a growing family, a big one that’s already settled or you know you carpool with friends a lot, a three-row SUV is likely to be your optimal choice of vehicle. There are plenty of options out there on the market providing third-row seating, but which Chevy SUVs offer it in 2025? That’s the question we’re here to answer today, as we’ll dive into the three Chevrolet crossovers and traditional SUVs that offer three rows of seating for up to 7, 8 or even 9 passengers, highlighting some of the specs & features that make them great options in their respective segments.
2025 Chevrolet Traverse
We’ll start with the one and only crossover on the lineup that offers third-row seating, the 2025 Chevy Traverse. This midsize crossover SUV just entered its third generation for the 2024 model year, and continues to build on its success this year with the introduction of the new High Country trim level. With seating for up to eight, depending on your configuration choice, here are some of the model’s highlights:
- One-Touch Fold second-row seats allow easy access to the third-row bench seating.
- The Traverse offers 22.9 cubic feet of cargo space behind its third row, 56.6 cu. ft. with that third row folded flat and, ultimately, a best-in-class 97.6 cu. ft. of max cargo space when folding the second row seats as well.
- Packed full of safe and convenient technologies, you can benefit from standard Chevy Safety Assist and, if you wish, available Super Cruise.
2025 Chevrolet Tahoe
One of the two traditional SUVs that offer three-row seating on the lineup is the 2025 Chevy Tahoe, a full-size utility vehicle that’s been on the lineup for just over three decades. The perfect blend of power and space, with tons of premium features sprinkled in, the Tahoe offers seating for up to 9 passengers under certain configurations.
- A very spacious third row means even adults can comfortably fit, thanks in large part to 34.9 inches of legroom.
- Various engine options to choose from, including a standard 5.3L V8, an available 6.2L V8 and an available 3.0L Duramax turbo-diesel I6, so you get the blend of performance and efficiency you want.
- Premium technologies make the cabin feel like a luxury vehicle, thanks to features like the 17.7” infotainment screen, 15” head-up display and 11” driver information center.
2025 Chevrolet Suburban
The third and final three-row Chevy vehicle is the 2025 Chevrolet Suburban, perhaps one of the most iconic vehicles in production today. This is partly due to the fact that the Suburban nameplate has been around since all the way back in 1935, making it the longest-used nameplate in the world. It’s also the largest SUV on the Chevy lineup, offering seating configurations for 7, 8 or 9 passengers.
- The most spacious cabin of the bunch, with generous legroom and more in all three rows to accommodate passengers of just about any size. Available leg room includes 36.7” in the third row, 42” in the middle and 44.5” in the front.
- Speaking of space, cargo capacity is abundant in the Suburban, with an incredible 41.5 cu. ft. of space behind the third row alone, 98.8 cu. ft. behind the second row and a whopping 144.5 cu. ft. of max cargo capacity.
- The Suburban offers many of the same features and technologies as found in the 2025 Chevy Tahoe, as it’s essentially an extended-length version of the Tahoe.
