While a precise release date has yet to be announced, the 2026 Chevy Suburban is expected to arrive at dealerships across the country sometime late in 2025. As more information about the vehicle becomes available, a narrowed down window for its release date will likely be revealed as well, so we’ll be sure to fill you in when that time comes.
Powertrain Options
Though the powertrain options are likely to remain the same for the 2026 model year, we thought we’d take a second to remind you of the robust lineup of options available. The base powertrain engine available in the 2026 Suburban is the 5.3L V8 engine capable of generating up to 355 horsepower alongside 383 pound-feet of torque. From there you can upgrade to the even more powerful and capable 6.2L V8 that boosts output to 420 hp and 460 lb-ft.
Then there’s the option that represents the perfect blend of efficiency and power, a 3.0L Duramax turbo-diesel engine. Due to its nature as a turbocharged engine that runs on diesel, it’s more efficient than other options, yet it still offers impressive performance with 305 hp and 495 lb-ft. of torque.

While it’s possible Chevrolet could change up the trim levels in which the 2026 Suburban is offered, it’s more likely that they might just shift around what’s available at a given trim. So we feel pretty confident giving you a reminder of the available trim levels and what each one represents.
